FROM THE VILLAGE …….. This is a reminder to all dog owners that licenses are due in May. Cost is $11.00 per dog and proof of rabies vaccination must either accompany the fee, or you can check with the office to see if your dog’s shots are up-to-date and in our records accordingly. You can pay online, stop in the office, or put your check in the drop box with the proof of current rabies vaccination and the new license{s) and tag{s) and the rabies shot certificate will be mailed back to you. Current rabies vaccination is mandated by State Statute and very important for your pet, family, and neighbors. The Village will appreciate your cooperation in taking care of this in the month of May.

Another side note about electrical outages in Ansley. The Village does appreciate reports of outages because unless it is city-wide, your reports help to narrow the scope of where the problem is located. Electricity for Ansley comes over Custer Public Power District lines and usually when there is a general outage it is because Custer Public Power is experiencing a problem or problems on their system. If the outage is going to take time to locate or repair then the Village will begin generation from our plant until Custer returns to operation for Ansley. It takes 20-30 minutes to warm up the Village’s generator before going online, so if it is expected a city-wide outage won’t last long we may not start our engine(s) for generation. For an area outage it always helps if you contact a neighbor before you call in a report to see if they are also experiencing an outage. During working hours you can call in a report to the Village Office 935-1467 or the Light Plant 935-1400.
