NOTICE OF 2nd PUBLIC HEARING ON AN APPLICATION FOR THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 11, 2026, at 7:00PM, at the Ansley Municipal Auditorium, the Village of Ansley will hold a public hearing concerning funding received from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This grant is available to qualifying local governments for community/economic development activities.
The Village of Ansley received $39,000 in 2023 for comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance updates and the completion of a community housing study. All three (3) core planning documents were around 15 years old and needed to be revised to guide Ansley into the future. The total project costs were projected to be $43,000, with
$40,000.00 for the comprehensive plan, zoning ordinances, and housing study and $3,000 for general administration services. The remaining $4,000 was to be paid by the Village of Ansley. The awarded amount of $39, 000 benefited low- and moderate-income people in Ansley. No displacement of people occurred as a result of this CDBG activity.
The purpose of the public hearing is to accept comments about the CDBG grant-funded project as it nears completion. All interested parties are invited to attend this public hearing at which time you will have an opportunity to be heard regarding the Village’s planning grant project. Written and oral testimony will also be accepted at the public hearing scheduled for 7:00PM, May 11, 2026, Ansley Municipal Auditorium. Written comments addressed to Village Clerk/Treasurer, Michelle Nelson, at 217 Nile Street will be accepted if received on or before May 11, 2026.
Individuals requiring physical or sensory accommodations including interpreter service, Braille, large print, or recorded materials, please contact Michelle Nelson at 217 Nile Street no later than May 5, 2026.
