Reminder for Ansley residents:

Summer is here and that means we need to focus on safety around town. Ansley Village Ordinance #489 states:

No fence, hedge, wall, or shrubbery shall interfere with the vision of motorists or adjacent property holders. On a corner lot in the Residential District, a sight triangle shall be provided such that nothing shall be erected, placed, planted, or allowed to grow in such a manner as materially to impede vision between a height of two and one-half (2-1/2) feet and ten (10) feet above the centerline grades of the intersecting streets in the area bounded by the street lines.

What does this mean? From the corner of a street there can’t be anything blocking the site line from 2 ½ feet to 10 feet from the ground in both directions from the intersection. Why is this important? There needs to be adequate vision at intersections not only for safe driving conditions but also for clear vision to see kids walking, riding bikes etc.

We do have someone that is going to do Ordinance Enforcement for us. We will be enforcing our ordinances and we would appreciate your cooperation in the upkeep and maintenance of your properties.

The village tree dump is only for Ansley residents to dispose of natural products like tree limbs, grass clippings, leaves. Cat litter and dog waste is accepted-no bags or containers. We have had problems with people dumping construction debris, commercial wood products, pallets etc. – these products are not allowed! The owner of the property has installed security cameras on site. If you do dump things that are not allowed, you will be held responsible for the removal, and you may be cited for littering. Dumping illegal materials jeopardizes our ability to provide the dump as a service to the community.

Please do your part in keeping Ansley a clean, safe place for everyone.

Thank You for your cooperation!

Pam Strong, Deputy Village Clerk/Treasurer
